Giving Tuesday is December 3rd

Here’s some great info as presented by the Chronicle of Philanthropy Nonprofits attract three to five times more new donors on Giving Tuesday than on other days of the year, research shows. But how can you hold onto new supporters after the campaign ends? Start by greeting them, says Jeannie Howell, former director of nonprofit ventures and strategic impact at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Send them a welcome packet that includes detailed information about your organization’s work. Or go bigger, and meet new donors in person: “Some charities do exclusive thank-you receptions,” she says. Get more ideas from Howell in Tips for Keeping New Donors After a Giving Day, and consult our tool kit for more advice on how to maximize your Giving Tuesday results.
